6 Sessions - 3 hours per session

• Carcass construction
• Face frame construction
• Construction of frame & panel doors
• Construction of dovetail drawers

Scott Midgley, Furniture Maker, has been designing and creating custom wood furniture for over 25 years.
He has been teaching woodworking and furniture design for the last several years.
Students of all levels can learn how to use and sharpen hand woodworking tools including scrapers,
planes, chisels and saws. Students learn proper use of power tools such as table saws, routers,
planers & jointers. A wide range of skillls are taught from proper hand tool use in making hand cut dovetails
to the use of modern woodworking machines such as biscuit jointery, kreg pockethole jointery and more.
The basic cabinet making course teaches hobbyists stock selection and layout, safe tool and equipment use.
Students construct a solid wood carcass and face frame, frame and panel door,
dovetail drawers and router made mouldings.
After completing the basic cabinet making course students are free to sign up for personal instruction and tutoring.
They may design and fabricate creative projects of their choosing.
Scott Midgley designs and builds custom wood furniture. He has made traditional to modern pieces in a
wide variety of styles for commercial and residential clients. He works in all varieties of wood including
vaneers and solid wood. He has done conference tables, entertainment centers, bookshelves,
dining room tables, cabinets, beds and more.
If you can dream it in wood, he can make your dream come true. If you can't find that special piece
in a size for your space or can't match your existing furniture he can solve that for you.
